Student Health is Our Concern
In Chanute Public Schools, employees in the Child Nutrition and Wellness Department are dedicated to serving breakfasts and lunches to students that meet federal nutrition standards and taste good. New USDA regulations this year require students to choose at least three of the five food components - meat, fruit, vegetable, bread and milk - served for lunch. In compliance with the state and federal guidelines on childrens' health and fitness, students are required to choose a 1/2 cup of fruit or vegetable as one of their lunch choices.
Meal Prices and Requirements
Breakfast $1.50 Students choose from at least three items, including hot entree'/cereal, graham crackers juice
Lunch $2.60 elementary $2.70 Royster and CHS
Adult Prices: Breakfast $2.05 - Lunch $3.50
Lunch- NEW USDA REQUIREMENTS: Students must choose a minimum of 3 full servings 1 being a 1/2 cup of Fruit or Vegetable from the 5 offered items of meat, fruit, vegetable, bread, milk.
